NCSLA gives two awards annually to recognize service and dedication to improving science education.
- The Herman and Emma Gatling Award for Outstanding Science Education Leadership in North Carolina is given in the fall meeting
- The Michael C. Jackson Distinguished Service Award is given at the spring meeting.
