Potpourri of Apprises: Critical updates from colleagues in the field
Join us for critical updates and future opportunities available across the state for NCSLA members. Attendees will engage with three different speakers addressing issues and opportunities for connections to science and STEM education. Dr. Michael Maher, Executive Director of the Office of Learning Recovery and Acceleration at the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, will talk to the purpose and progress of The Professional Educator Preparation and Standards Commission (PEPSC) as an advising body to the North Carolina State Board of Education (SBE). Ms. Carrie Horton, Program Manager with the Kenan Fellows Program, will provide updates on the popular leadership program as well as share opportunities with members. There is an exciting Kenan Fellows STEMwork program of which she is co-author. Ms. Michelle Ellis is the creator and lead facilitator for the STEM Educators for Equity and Diversity (SEED) Fellowship program in North Carolina. She will describe the unique program and share updates and opportunities for our NCSLA members.
