Fall 2004 NCSLA MeetingThe fall membership meeting for NCSLA was held Wednesday, November 10 at the Koury Convention Center in Greensboro. The topic of the meeting was 'Evaluating Curriculum Materials' in preparation for this year's textbook adoptions.
Our keynote speaker for the meeting is Dr. Sam Houston, President and CEO of the NC Science, Mathematics and Technology Education Center. Dr. Houston has served as an educator at all levels: teacher, principal, community college instructor, university professor and superintendent. He has been a state leader in education serving as Executive Director of the NC Education Standards and Accountability Commision and the Center for School Leadership Development. In his current position with the NCSMT, Dr. Houston is focusing specifically on science education in North Carolina.
