Position Statement

Statement on Keeping Kids in School

As we are in the midst of a global pandemic that threatens the health and safety of students, staff and their families, and as learning happens best with face to face collaboration in schools

NCSLA encourages teachers and administrators to be leaders in their communities by becoming vaccinated, and enforcing masking (regardless of vaccination status) and social distancing in school buildings as described in the NCDHHS StrongSchoolsNC Public Health Toolkit (K-12).

These actions are supported by research and are necessary to keep school staff and students safe and healthy.

NCDHHS has provided additional resources for schools who wish to promote vaccination.
