Problem Based Learning Workshop


Seventeen educators from across the state attended the workshop on at Garinger High School in Charlotte.   The workshop was led by Leslie Russell from CERTL (Wake Forest), Michelle Ellis and Manley Midgett.

The North Carolina Science Leadership Association (NCSLA) is partnering with the Center of Excellence for Research, Teaching and Learning (CERTL) at the Wake Forest School of Medicine to provide a 3-day workshop this summer. The workshop is designed to provide K-12 teachers with inquiry-based lessons in Problem-Based Learning that integrate science, math, language arts and other areas of the curriculum.

Dates:  August 1-3, 2023, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm each day
Location: Garinger High School, 1100 Eastway Drive, Charlotte, NC 28205

Upon Completion of the workshop, participants

  •  will have permanent access to hundreds of problems and projects from CERTL to use in their classroom (a $550 value). This means no additional fee, ever, even if you change schools!
  • may apply for up to 2 CEUs.
