Advocacy for educators Workshop

Monday, June 15, 2026
9 am - 5 pm
Friday Institute, Raleigh, NC

REGISTER

Spend the day learning the ins and outs of advocacy at all levels from your local school board to the state legislature.  We will have current school board members, professional lobbyists, and state senators and representatives share their knowledge and experiences to inform and prepare you to stand up for the education issues most important to you.

The workshop includes a orientation webinar with some pre-work so you are prepared to hit the ground running.  This will be included in the completion certificate so participants are eligible for 1.0 CEU (10 hours).

If requested, we will also set up an appointment to meet with your legislator on Tuesday, June 16 so you can put what you've learned into action.

The cost of the workshop is $25 for NCSLA members and $65 for non-members (includes 1 year membership in NCSLA)

Registration deadline is May 25, 2026.
